As your counselor, I will strive to see you. To genuinely see you.
You are not your struggle. Underneath the anxiety, depression, pain, loneliness, anger, insecurity, obsession, addiction...there is an unwounded, authentic self, and that is who I will see and help to uncover. I will ask intentional questions. I will listen with empathy and curiosity. And I will offer you warmth, safety, non-judgement, and support.
Together, we will explore the behaviors and patterns that keep you from being your truest self. We will work to befriend your emotions, reclaim your voice, overcome trauma, reconnect to your body, and tap into your inner wisdom and innate capacity for healing. You can expect my respect, insight, compassion, and authenticity as we build a healthy, productive therapeutic relationship that aids you in meeting your goals.
I have been privileged to support people in their healing journey for twenty years, serving clients across a spectrum of private practice counseling, community mental health, addiction treatment, pregnancy and childbirth, and adult and teen spiritual development. As a clinical social worker offering evidence-based mental health services, I specialize in anxiety, depression, difficult life transitions, stress management, trauma, interpersonal conflicts, emotional dysregulation, identity formation, and spiritual exploration. I also bring to my practice an eclectic background of training and professional experience as a natural health therapist, registered yoga teacher, labor and delivery doula, and childbirth educator. I draw on this diverse background as I support clients in their pursuit of mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness.
When I'm not in the office, I love spending time with my husband and two children tending to our three backyard ducks, competing in at-home baking competitions with my daughter, and working on the countless yard projects we dream about. I enjoy hiking, camping, backpacking, swimming in beautiful Lake Michigan, reading, and enjoying good food with friends and family.
